Laurie PastoreDirector of Curriculum Planning and Implementation
Laurie Pastore is a graduate of Williams College and the Bank Street College of Education. She has taught in public schools in Brooklyn and Westchester County, working with students from Pre-K to 5th grade. Laurie’s last teaching assignment was in Ardsley, NY at the Concord Road Elementary School, where the faculty earned a national award for Model Professional Development from the United States Department of Education. It was in this setting that she learned the value of using research, collaboration and reflection to plan for best practice in the classroom. This desire to collaborate with teachers led Laurie to join LitLife in 2003. Since then, she has enjoyed working with teachers and administrators to plan curriculum, align teaching to the state standards, and develop innovative solutions to the growing impact of testing. Laurie is the co-author with Pam Allyn of The Complete Year of Reading and Writing Grade 4 and The Complete Year of Reading and Writing Grade 5.
