Carol Quinones-Smith

Carol Quinones-Smith has taught middle school students for the past ten years in the White Plains School District. During her tenure at White Plains she has taught reading and writing classes through the Staff Development Center and led various professional study groups in literacy. She has worked closely with teachers to develop units of study in memoir, poetry, fluency, short story, partnerships, book clubs, and nonfiction. Carol continues to keep herself current in her practices by attending professional workshops and seminars.

Carol’s work with LitLife has included working with upper elementary and middle school teachers on reading strategies.  She has also led a TALL Team (Teachers as Literacy Leaders) and provides much wise guidance to the LitLife team on the unique challenges and joys of teaching middle school students.
