Our Team Leaders

Jenny Bender

Jenny taught 2nd grade and 7th grade literacy in New York City Public
schools. After leaving the classroom, she worked for several years as a
staff developer with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. She
also taught the teaching of writing to graduate students at Teachers
College, Columbia.

As a team leader for LitLife, Jenny continues to help K-8 teachers lead effective reading and writing workshops. Comfortable both with large-group presentations and working directly with teachers in small groups, Jenny's extensive knowledge across grade levels provides invaluable support to her consulting work with teachers.

Her first book, The Resourceful Writing Teacher: A Handbook of Essential Skills and Strategies, offers elementary and middle school teachers the information
